PATHOLOGY
All
routine and special investigations are done in our laboratory using state of the
Art Equipment. In addition to the tests mentions in our list, which are recommended
by specialists, we have also introduced certain concessional packages which health
conscious people can take periodically without any prescription. These packages
offer comprehensive health check up. These packages have been adopted by many organizations
and corporate to enable their executives fulfill their health needs. These are:
Executive Health Check up, Antenatal [Pregnancy] check up, Preoperative check up,
& pre-employment check up etc. to name a few.
HORMONE LAB
Hormones are present in the body in microquantities but are vital for growth and
health. We carry out all hormone tests like thyroid [T3,T4,TSH,Free T3,Free T4],sex
hormones like Prolactin,LH,FSH, Testosterone and allergy related IgE every day and
reported same day.
ULTRASOUND AND COLOUR DOPPLER
Ultrasound has been used in a variety of clinical settings, including obstetrics
and gynecology, cardiology and cancer detection without using harmful radiation
. It finds its best use in pregnancy where there is no side effect of ultrasound
waves on the baby. Detailed study and evaluation of vital organs of fetus can be
carried out and fetal movements can be accurately recorded alongwith realtime reconstruction
of a clear 4D image of the face of the baby.
DIGITAL X-RAY
The
use of X ray in the evaluation of lung diseases like tuberculosis is unparalleled.X-rays
are also taken to examine bones and joints to evaluate fractures and dislocations
or diseases like arthritis and the breakdown (degeneration) of the discs between
the spinal bones. It also helps to detect spinal abnormalities, infections, dislocations,
tumors, bone spurs, disc disease or bony problems since birth (congenital). With
the advent of digital technology,X-ray images can be stored and transferred on computer
for better upkeep of records.
PFT
PFT
is a test to evaluate functioning of the lungs and diagnose obstructive lung disease
in patients experiencing breathing difficulty. The patient is asked to breath forcefully
in a special tube and curves are taken in a machine connected to a computer.
ECG
The
ECG is a method of recording the electrical activity of the heart. Each heartbeat
is caused by a section of the heart generating an electrical signal which then conducts
through specialized pathways to all parts of the heart. These electrical signals
get transmitted through the chest to the skin where they can be recorded on computer.
Used to exclude cardiac ishchemia and infarction [or heart attack in common words].
All previous ECG tracings can be retrieved on our equipment when required.
CT SCAN Computed tomography (CT)
CT
SCAN Computed tomography (CT) is a medical imaging method employing tomography created
by a computer used to generate a three-dimensional image of the inside of an object
from a large series of 2 D X-ray images taken around a single axis of rotation CT
scan finds its value in a wide variety ofr clinical conditions especially head [brain]
thorax [xhest] and abdom. CT scan of the head is typically used to detect infarction,
tumours, calcifications, haemorrhage and bone trauma. CT scan of chest can be used
for detecting both acute and chronic changes in the lung tissue including tumours.
Abdominal organs can also be scanned for precise diagnosis of diseases.
TMT OR CARDIAC STRESS TEST
TMT
OR CARDIAC STRESS TEST is a test used in medicine and cardiology to measure the
heart’s ability to respond to external stress in a controlled clinical environment.
Cardiac stress tests compare the coronary circulation between the patient at rest
with the same patient’s circulation observed during maximum physical exertion, showing
any abnormal blood flow to the myocardium. ECG treadmill is the first choice for
patients with medium risk of coronary heart disease according to risk factors of
smoking, family history of coronary artery stenosis, hypertension, diabetes and
high cholesterol.
ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY(OR ECHO)
ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY
(OR ECHO) is a sonogram of the heart used to image two-dimensional slices of the
heart and produce accurate assessment of the velocity of blood and cardiac tissue
at any point. It can provide information about the size and shape of the heart,
its pumping capacity and the location and extent of any damage to its tissues and
also for assessing diseases of the heart valves like stenosis and regurgitation.
OPG
An
Orthopantomogram (OPG), also known as an “orthopantogram” is a panoramic scanning
dental X-ray of the upper and lower jaw. It shows a two-dimensional view of a half-circle
from ear to ear. OPGs are used by Dentists to provide information on Impacted wisdom
teeth ,Periodontal bone loss ,Finding the source of dental pain ,Assessment for
the placement of dental implants and Orthodontic assessment.
BMD or Dexa scan
Bone
density scanning, also called dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) or bone densitometry,
is an enhanced form of x-ray technology that is used to measure bone loss. DXA is
today’s established standard for measuring bone mineral density (BMD).It finds its
use mostly in postmenopausal females and elderly men and women to assess degree
of osteoporosis .Patients with type 1diabetes, liver disease, kidney disease or
hyperthyroidism. hyperparathyroidism should also be scanned for BMD.
The procedure takes less than 15 minutes
and is most often performed on the lower spine and hips. In children and some adults,
the whole body is sometimes scanned.
EEG or Elelctroencephalography
EEG
refers to the recording of the brain’s spontaneous electrical activity over a short
period of time, usually 20–40 minutes, as recorded from multiple electrodes placed
on the scalp. It is a painless procedure that uses small, flat metal discs (electrodes)
attached to your scalp to detect electrical
activity in your brain.undefined Your
brain cells communicate via electrical impulses and are active all the time, even
when you’re asleep. This activity shows up as wavy lines on an EEG The main diagnostic
application of EEG is in the case of epilepsy, EEG is also used for studies of sleep
and sleep disorders where recordings are typically done for one full night, sometimes
more.
ENDOSCOPY
An endoscopy is a test using fiberoptic instrument that looks
inside the body, the endoscope which is a long flexible tube that is swallowed .
The test is used to examine the food pipe, stomach and intestine to see if there
are any growths or abnormal looking areas. If required the doctor can take out impacted
foreign objects in the GI tract as well as samples (biopsies) of any abnormal looking
tissues for histological evaluation using different forceps.
MAMMOGRAM
Sonomammography is ultrasound of the breast. It is used to
examine any lumps in breast tissue which may or may not be elicitable on physical
examination. Fine needle aspiration biopsies of lumps in breast to exclude Cancer
can also be done under ultrasound guidance. It is non invasive and so preferred over
conventional X ray mammography.
BRONCHOSCOPY
Bronchoscopy is a procedure that allows your doctor to look
at your airway through a thin viewing instrument called a bronchoscope. During a
bronchoscopy, your doctor will examine your throat, larynx , trachea and lower airways.
Bronchoscopy may be done to diagnose problems with the airway or to remove an object
or growth from the airway.
